The Certified Lactation Specialist Course is designed for the aspiring lactation consultant or nurses, physicians, midwives, dieticians, breastfeeding assistants or others desirous of improving their knowledge base and skills in working with the breastfeeding dyad. All areas included on the IBLCE exam are addressed.
The 5 day course provides half the needed number of continuing education hours in lactation to qualify to sit for the IBLCE exam. The other half can be obtained through LEC’s home study courses, or attending other conferences. Lactation management skills are taught through practical application of scientific principles.

Our speakers are Dr. Curisa Tucker, RN, PhD, Assistant Professor from the College of Nursing at the University of South Carolina and Michelle Flanagan, BSN, RNC, OB Outreach Educator with Prisma Health, AWHONN SC Chapter Chair, & CoChair of the Patient Quality and Safety Workgroup of SC Birth Outcomes Initiatives. The conference is geared toward multidisciplinary colleagues who care for mothers and infants: Physicians, Advanced Practice Providers, Nurses, Dietitians, therapists, lactation consultants, WIC counselors, and more!
The pre-conference course is intended to build the skills of those who are not directly trained or certified in lactation. Physicians, APPs, and nurses, among others, will benefit!

Early Bird registration ends March 15. Conference is from April 2-June 30, 2024. There will be 29 informative talks—watch live or later with their online presentations.
Educational Hours & Credits: GOLD Lactation 2024 offers 30.5 Hours of Continuing Education. 30.5 CERPs (27.5L, 2E, 1R), 30.5 Nurse Contact Hours, 30.5 CMEs, 30 Contact Hours (3 MEAC CEUs) and 30.5 Dietetic CPEUs are approved.
